We Love Local July Spotlight: Giving Dogs a Second Chance with Motley Mutts Rescue
For July’s We Love Local, GSMS is proud to support Motley Mutts Rescue, an incredible organization working tirelessly to give dogs of all ages and breeds a second chance at life. This month’s nominee was selected by our very own Qwentin, whose mother is a dedicated volunteer with the rescue. Her connection—and deep passion for the mission—led us to learn more about the work they do, and we were honored to contribute a $500 donation in support.
Motley Mutts Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with rescuers in Mississippi, many of whom operate without access to a local shelter or work out of their homes to foster homeless dogs. The rescue provides veterinary care, food, vaccines, preventatives, and, when possible, helps fund safe housing while dogs await adoption. Motley Mutts takes in dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds—but they have a special place in their hearts for senior dogs and mama pups. Their commitment to helping dogs with heartworm and those often overlooked in traditional shelters is truly inspiring.
Zak and Gina had the pleasure of visiting the facility and meeting Jenn, who gave them a tour and introduced them to some of the adorable pups currently looking for homes. The love and care shown to these animals was clear at every turn. We encourage anyone who feels moved by their mission to consider donating, fostering, or volunteering.
