The In-Duct Air Purifier pairs a UVC lamp with two carbon filter blocks. The reaction between the UV light and the carbon creates a catalyst effect that helps break down odors from cooking, pets, and everyday living, it's targeting odor and VOCs, not filtering particles out of the air. If you already have a good pleated filter in place, adding this unit gets you close to hospital-grade results at a more budget-friendly price point.
Lennox Healthy Climate PureAir
The PureAir is a complete filtration system: a MERV-16 filter, a UVA lamp, and a titanium dioxide-coated PureAir cartridge that drives photocatalytic oxidation, a process that destroys pollutants rather than just trapping them. This is the option for homeowners who want the highest level of filtration available for a ducted system, and it's the only PureAir model we install; the smart, sensor-connected PureAir S isn't part of our lineup.

What installation looks like
The In-Duct Purifier installs on the supply side of your ductwork, positioned above the A-coil or furnace heat exchanger. It's a straightforward job, usually a couple of hours, and it's often done alongside an air filter upgrade, though it works fine as a standalone service too. The PureAir installs on the return side, ahead of your system's blower, and works best when the air handler runs continuously except during stretches of high humidity.
One thing worth knowing upfront: air quality products like these need a traditional forced-air duct system. They can't be added to mini-splits or boiler systems.
Keeping it running: maintenance
UV bulbs keep shining well past the point where they're actually effective, so a bulb that "still works" isn't necessarily still doing its job. We recommend annual maintenance for both products: for the In-Duct Purifier, that's a new carbon cell and UVC lamp; for the PureAir, that's a new MERV-16 filter, UVA lamp, and PureAir cartridge. Either one can be done as part of your yearly visit or through GSMS Home Club membership.
What affects the price
The installed pricing for our UV air purifiers mainly depends on two factors: first, whether your home has a nearby 120-volt outlet, as both products require dedicated power. Second, the layout of your home's ductwork plays a role, since each system is unique. If we need to add an outlet, that will be included in your quote.
